In defiance he made himself nothing but enemies and it did little but bring out the worst in people. Yet throughout he remained unbowed against the raining onslaught.
As the greater than he, worked its relentless drive, he stoked his inner resistance and hit people. He hit them with words but they just bounced off a shield of ignorance. When he could no longer muster any more words he loaded his gun. He shot people indiscriminately.
