I have been a hit man for almost twenty years now. My life is death. I should think that I have killed over two hundred people. Bank managers, husbands, presidents. But today is my very last hit. It is my thirty sixth birthday. I am retiring. It will be a long range hit. A simple shot to the temple. There will be no risk. Then I will walk away.
Tomorrow I shall begin my new career. I shall attend the university medical school, where I shall train to become a doctor, maybe even a surgeon. My life shall become life.
